Jeff Atwood
Jeff attained his Bachelor’s degree in
Religious Studies from University of
Colorado at Boulder, attending an exchange
program and post-graduate research with the
Theology Institute of Uppsala,
Sweden where he focused on ancient
religions and New Religious Movements. While
continuing qi (energy) cultivation during
school, Jeff developed acute physical
awareness. In the late 90s Jeff graduated
from massage school in Philadelphia.
His increasing body of knowledge and passion
for health and healing fostered a
self-developed bodywork style, blending key
influences from teachers he met through the
years.
Qigong theory of functional
mobility guides his massage work, and his
Religious Studies experience enables him to
address the psycho-emotional influences to

Stephanie Carter
Growing
up, I wanted to be a ballet dancer…and
eventually became a clinical
psychologist. Somewhere along the
way, I encountered the stress of life
and discovered yoga and
meditation. Eventually I realized
that yoga combined my love of movement,
the study of psychology, and much, much
more. Plus, it made me feel really
great!
I got
my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a
specialization in Neuropsychology in
1998. After working in private
practice and in the state mental
hospital system for several years, I
began teaching yoga at the state
hospital to fellow staff members during
my lunch hour, which became the
highlight of my work week. This
encouraged me to enroll in and complete
teacher training at the Esther Vexler
Yoga School in 2010, and to register
with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga
Teacher (RYT200). Since then I
have continued my studies in therapeutic
yoga, Anusara and
Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga, and also became
certified in the Yoga Warriors method
and Core Strength Vinyasa. I’m
thrilled to spend my time teaching both
yoga and psychology, and providing
coaching and consultation on yoga and
mental health issues.
