Class Descriptions
Anusara-Inspired Yoga: These classes are taught by Jane Goldstein in the tradition of Anusara Yoga created by John Friend. Anusara Yoga includes a life-affirming philosophy of intrinsic goodness and teaches biomechanical alignment based on the Universal Principles of Alignment. Jane has over 10 year and 1200 hours of training in this style of yoga. These classes are playful, creative and always different. Come share in the joy!

Community Classes: Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend for free or by donation. Community classes are a blissful celebration of yoga. Your attendance is a gift in itself but if you wish to donate, all money collected will be used for scholarships to workshops.

Core Flow Yoga:  Yoga is always great for strengthening the core but this class gives extra emphasis on poses that strengthen and tone the abdominals and lower back.

Gentle Flow: This teaching style leads students through a flowing sequence of poses at a continuous pace.  Vinyasa classes are a meditative workout that links breath with movement.  Gentle Flow is suitable for beginners and level 1 students.

Gentle Yoga: The focus of Gentle yoga is on relaxation, stress reduction, and light stretching. This class is for any student who wishes to move at a slower pace and is appropriate for students with limitations of the wrist, knee, hip or back. It includes breathing exercises, restorative poses.

Hot Vinyasa: Classes are held in a heated room.  You will build strength, improve balance and felxibility and release toxins as you relieve stress.  Come to class hydrated.  Bring a towel (or two) in hand and your own yoga mat and water.  Hot Vinyasa welcomes all levels of students.

Introduction to Yoga: An introductory class for those new to yoga or those returning to yoga after a break. Teaches essential poses to help you begin your yoga journey in a safe, friendly, and supportive environment. This class will help you make the transition into a Level 1 or Gentle yoga class.

Iyengar Yoga for Women:  All women are welcome in this class that focuses on individual instructions for all stages in a women's life:  seniors, menopause, menstrual cycle, and pregnancy.  It is taught by Emilie Rogers, who is the Director of the Esther Vexler School of Yoga and is a Certified Iyengar Instructor.

Level 1: The poses in Level 1 classes build a solid foundation of strength, flexibility and an understanding of hatha yoga. This class is ideal for those new to yoga or returning to yoga after a long sabbatical. The class includes all of the basic standing poses, hip openers, forward bends, gentle back bends and twists.

Level 2: A deeper awareness of the basic poses is created as confidence and endurance both grow. This level of class explores more challenging poses and incorporates preparation poses for arm balances, inversions and backbends. This class encourages you to grow in your yoga practice in a safe and supportive environment.

Level 3: This class is for experienced students who have a dedicated yoga practice. Participants in this class can kick up into handstand at the wall and push up into back bend in the center of the room. Arm balances, inversions, and advanced options for basic poses are included. It helps to have a sense of humor in Level 3 classes.

Live Kirtan:  Experience the practice of Bhakti Yoga through devotional chanting.  This very anchient practice is a call and response form of chanting and can be thought of as vocal meditation.  Two Hearts Studio is honored to host Rick Henderson and Ragavatar music for this regular event and other live music gatherings.

Nia: NIA technique is a barefoot movement form that combines modern and jazz dance, aerobics, martial arts, yoga, and body integration therapy.  See www.niasanantonio.com

Rockin' Vinyasa: Practice to a variety of music from classic rock to classical Indian. This flow style class emphasis fun while celebrating the end of the week. Happy Hour priced at $5.

Yoga Sculpt: A mixture of yoga and body sculpting emphasizing
core strengthening and training the body to become stronger for yoga.  It includes lunges, push-ups, and toning exercises with bands and physioball combined with yoga poses for flexibility.  Ends with relaxation and meditation.  A challenging, fun, balanced, full spectrum class for body, mind and spirit.
