Class Descriptions

Our instructors are highly credentialed, dedicated practitioners with many years of experience in yoga.
Door opens ten minutes prior to class time. Drop-ins Welcome. Please join us!

Class Levels:

We offer a variety of class levels to meet students needs. Gentle and Restorative are the easiest, followed by Level I, Level 2, and Level 3. Instructors will assess the ability of a student to participate in a class and will recommend an appropriate alternative class level if needed.

Gentle Yoga: The focus is on relaxation, stress reduction, and light stretching. This class is for any student who wishes to move at a slower pace and is appropriate for students with limitations of the wrist, knee, hip or back. It includes breathing exercises and restorative poses. This is a great class for all students including beginners.

Happy Hour Yoga: A playful level 2-3 vinyasa yoga class with fun music and laughs. Happy hour price $5

Hot Vinyasa:

Iyengar Yoga: All students are welcome in the Level I class that focuses on precise body alignment and detailed instruction. Iyengar is a form of Hatha Yoga that has an emphasis on detail, precision and alignment in the performance of posture (asana) and breath control (pranayama). The development of strength, mobility and stability is gained through the asanas. Level 2 is more advanced and requires a minimum of six months experience in a level one yoga class.

Level 1: The poses in Level 1 classes build a solid foundation of strength, flexibility and an understanding of hatha yoga. This class is ideal for those new to yoga or returning to yoga after a long sabbatical. The class includes all of the basic standing poses, hip openers, forward bends, gentle back bends and twists.

Level 2: A deeper awareness of the basic poses is created as confidence and endurance both grow. This level of class explores more challenging poses and incorporates preparation poses for arm balances, inversions and backbends. This class encourages you to grow in your yoga practice in a safe and supportive environment.

Level 3: This class is for experienced students who have a dedicated yoga practice. Participants in this class can kick up into handstand at the wall and push up into back bend in the center of the room. Arm balances, inversions, and advanced options for basic poses are included.

Mindful & Mellow: An exploration of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. Each week we explore one sutra through study, meditation and gentle yoga. This is a great class for beginners.
Restorative: A very gentle class designed to balance fast paced lifestyles with deep physical, mental and emotional relaxation using the aid of props, breathing practices to allow the body to relax and refresh.

Slow Flow Yoga: This class is a fluid practice of breath work, sun salutation and flowing poses without rushing. Linking dynamic movement with breathing emphasizes mindfulness of movement. Build strength, flexibility, and body awareness.

Yoga Fusion: Flow yoga, strength exercises for core, back and buttocks, breath work, meditation and relaxation.

Yoga for Beginners: 4 week series geared to beginning and continuing students. This class focuses on basic alignment of the most common yoga poses taught in a safe, supportive environment. These poses establish the foundation of an ongoing yoga practice. Please pre-register for this series class.

Yoga with Philosophy and Alignment: This class blends precise, biomechanical alignment techniques with empowering and spiritually uplifting virtues that support a total mind, body and heart experience. This transformational yoga is more than a “yoga workout”.Leave each class calm and inspired to live the best version of yourself.

Zen Buddhist Meditation: Welcome SA Zen: Led by experienced Zen Buddhist practitioners, this mindfulness meditation practice includes sitting meditation and walking meditation. **New participants need to arrive at 7:15 for brief instruction. Planning to attend or want additional information? RSVP by noon to: Call or text 210-821-5566 each Wednesday to reserve your spot. If possible, wear black or dark colors. Class is by donation or $8.

    *You are welcome to drop in to any class on the schedule.  Drop-in fee is $16.

    *We offer a Studio Class card of 8 classes for $108 or 16 classes for $200, good for any yoga class on the schedule.
    (8 class cards expires in 90 days and 16 class cards expire in 120 days)

    *Classes on the schedule designated with a “D” following the name are available by donation or class card.

    Credit card payments are now available on our online store.
